Stu and Steve
So I was on Las Vegas Radio today, KOMP 92.3 FM Morning Show with Stu and Steve. I only got about 18 hours' notice, but it was good fun! Those guys have lots of energy and aren't afraid to say what's on their minds! Definitely my kind of guys.
So Stu told me right at the start that he and Steve had been together for quite some time. Listening to the broadcast afterwards, I discovered that he was trying to bait me a little, trying to see if I'd be upset that a 'disgusting' gay couple booked me for an interview. Quite the contrary! I'm glad, even keen, to be on gay radio, TV, you name it! My book has little to do with homosexuality and lots to do with making fun of those who would condemn it. Why respect a person who draws their morality from a book written in the Iron-age?
But it's worse than that. Those who claim to only condemn homosexuality because it's in the Bible will dismiss other biblical directives as 'outdated' or 'no longer applicable.' Gimme a break. How come "don't breed mules" is outdated and "don't be gay" isn't, when they're on the same page of the Bible?
No, Stu was right when he said that God loves us, no matter which orifice we choose... except the bit about God existing... or loving us... Mostly, God (presuming Stu meant the Yahweh of Bible fame) will use any excuse to kill lots and lots of people. He's really quite mean. Throughout the books of Moses, 2,700 years, God is either killing Jews for disobeying Him or killing non-Jews to show the Jews how much He loves them. It's really quite perverse. Much more perverse and violent than consensual sex between two men.
The interview was great fun and was over much too quickly. I'll make a point of dropping by to say G'day to them when I'm next in Vegas.
